My Work

My Relationship with Art

Even as a child, I had a special feeling for beauty and often wondered if others saw things the way I did. Through this perspective, I have discovered new things, unique, beautiful and unforgettable things and stored them in my memory. But this ability has also created obstacles and difficulties. I have become critical not only of my own work, but in my consideration of all things.

At the very beginning of my art education, I was eager to know everything and to try things out immediately. I was, however, often indecisive, insecure and shy about my creativity until I saw that I was able to draw and paint better than many others. But observing things "correctly" is often not enough to present things such as objects, bodies, heads, compositions, etc. on a flat surface. So I continued to develop my skills. During all the many years of study, it seemed very important for me to satisfy my teachers and professors. I think it was much easier to satisfy them than it is now to satisfy myself. I continue to set the highest standards for myself but with each artistic work, with every picture I've ever finished, I feel that it has not all been said - there will always be more to say and show.

I paint and draw precisely, almost meticulously. This requires patience, accurate vision and monitoring. It gives me great joy and pleasure to present beautiful things, especially in ornament and portrait painting. I think that copying great works of art for any beginner is also very important for there is much to learn and it provides a good basis for artistic and creative independence. I have successfully completed a very broad, diversified and versatile art education with diploma. In addition, I have experience in many different fields of art, such as theater with set design, props and costumes, as well as in other areas of design, technical design and interior design. I paint portraits, still life, landscapes, decorative and ornamental paintings. I have also developed a special love for icon painting.

Assisting and advising students in painting and drawing has always been one of my favorite pastimes. Teaching gives me great joy and is fun. I share my experience and ability gladly. For the past several years I have been teaching in Salzburg at theVolkshochschule and at the Leonardo Academy of Art in Mattsee.

I have been fortunate to have a good connection to my students and course participants resulting in good feedback and success.
